How I am different

I have never seen myself in a mirror from the last few years. Now I am afraid even from going outside. Mumma says, you are my angel and angels do not fit between common people. She always sings lullaby for me. She is the prettiest woman in the whole world. She is my everything. But I don't like tears on her face. I don't know why, papa and mumma both fight with each other. This is not new for me, this happens after every few days. Whenever I asked the reason from my brother, he always said "Its all because of you, you are a curse for the family".But I always complete my homework on time, then why he said so. Once i asked this from papa, "Am I a curse for the family??", he ignored me and went to the another room. Papa never talks with me. I always want to cuddle with him but he always scolded me. He even don't let me make friends, he said "You are not like others." But how I am different? My granny said you look like your brother, then why she brings gift only for him but not for me. I obey her, I help my mumma in households and never ask for a barbie doll too. May be i am too young, that's why? Do you know, I get afraid when my aunt says to papa that "She is 'paraya dhan'!!!". Will I be sold out in future?? But I want to be an accountant in future as my brother. He always teaches me about accounts that boys are assets and girls are liabilities. I never understand these big complex words but my papa always love him, that's why I also want to be like him, so that papa will also love me.

Today, my class was laughing on me when I asked a question from my teacher that "Do girls get weaker when they grow up? Because mumma always says 'I will find a prince for you who will fulfil your dreams and protect you too.' Will I not be able to protect myself and earn so much that I can fulfil my dreams. Will I have to be dependent on others". I don't know why I got kitchen set when I asked for a doctor set. May be being a doctor is costlier than giving a dowry. But whatever the thing is, I will do my best to keep my parents happy, whatever they would say I will do so. I will never make a complaint and will always share my hard life with you, my pillow.
